Last kiln before Christmas!

I'm torn with this kiln. Most things turned out, but a couple things - Christmas gifts no less - did not. Grrr.

The good:

Single yarn bowl

Pie Dish

Another Pie Dish

A Mixing Bowl

A Quad Yarn Bowl filled

A tray

The Bad:

These were Christmas gifts for people to give to people. Were being the operative word. I'm ANNOYED with these.

A Chip-n-Dip. Nice, right?....

until you see the back side of the bowl. Grrr.

And a mixing/serving bowl. Pretty shape, beautiful glaze inside.....

But then you look at the outside........

This will teach me to glaze when I'm tired.

SALE THIS WEEKEND!!!

Been having stupid kiln issues as of late... Need to replace a couple parts, but am able to limp along to get through the next 2 weeks.

This weekend is another sale with the Swan Creek Potters. Check out the web site for details.

I'll have a new color combination there... Green and Almond. I'm really excited about how they look together, especially where they overlap. A very happy accident indeed.

Here is a sneak peek:

Ready, Set, GO!

I am a terrible blogger.

Terrible.

A couple weeks after the Swan Creek Potters sale November last year I cut the tip of my index finger rather seriously. Couldn't put any pressure on it for a log time, which kind of poses a problem when throwing pots. I can throw now, but still have a dead spot on the tip of my finger, which is weird.

As my finger healed, I started training for the Glass City Marathon, and it was all I could do to keep up with work and all the miles I was running.

Anyway. The marathon was a little over a week ago, and I'm ready to get back to making more pots.

Finally.
